Helmed by Los Angeles-based filmmaker Eliane Henri, Hargrove is a vérité style documentary chronicling the last year of trumpet legend Roy Hargrove’s life as he embarks on his final European summer tour. Music icons including Erykah Badu, Herbie Hancock, Questlove, Robert Glasper, Sonny Rollins, Wynton Marsalis and Yasiin Bey pay tribute to Hargrove’s artistry, impact and legacy in this stunning film executive produced by Janine Sherman Barrois and Folding Chair Productions.
Janine Sherman Barrois championed and executive produced Numa Perrier’s SXSW film JEZEBEL about a vulnerable young woman who becomes a webcam model like her sister. Living in Las Vegas, the sister bond is tested as they survive on the margins of society navigating the politics of black female sexuality and womanhood.
